A Seminar-Workshop on the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Diseases for Mindanao Sector was held in Lantaka by the Bay Hotel, Zamboanga City on May 26-28, 2010. The seminar was conducted by Head Office personnel headed by Atty. Jovy C. Bernabe, President, Norman R. Cajucom, ASVP, Antonio S. Uy II, Assistant to ASVP,for Visayas and Mindanao, Carmen N. Hutaba, OIC ARPVD, Segundo H. Guerrero, Jr., OIC, Admin, Agustin B. Alunan, and Renato R. Viado together with PCIC RO XI OIC Bonifacio V. Pales, National Coordinator on the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Diseases.

It was attended by Mindanao Sector Regional Managers/OICs, CODs/OICs of Marketing Services Division and Claims Adjustment Division, Risk Insurance Specialists of Mindanao Regions. Present in that seminar-workshop were Regional Executive Director Oscar Parawan, Department of Agriculture Regional Field Unit – IX together with Alex Pulmano and Engr. Sabado, Chief, Operations and Head, Regional Crop Protection Center, DA RFU-IX, respectively, who served as resource persons on the prevention and control of plant pests and diseases.
