PCIC Extension Office-Negros Oriental Team Head Junriel Aba discusses the programs and services of PCIC to participants of the PAFEC Harmonization and Operational Planning Workshops held on February 6, 2025 in Dumaguete City.
Count on RO 7 to continue giving timely and responsive insurance services to farmers from Negros Oriental.
This was the commitment given by Junriel Aba, the team leader of PCIC Extension Office (PEO) in Negros Oriental, in his presentation during the Harmonization and Operational Planning Workshops for Provincial Agriculture and Fishery Extension Centers (PAFEC), held on February 6, 2025 at the SP Multipurpose Hall, Capitol Area, Dumaguete City.
The stakeholders of the Negros Oriental Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Center (NOAFEC) have included crop insurance in their interventions for the province’s five priority commodities under the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan, namely: highland vegetables, native chicken, coconut oil, abaca and cassava. The investment plan aims to mitigate risks and ensure the sustainability of programs and projects supporting local farmers as well as fisherfolk.
By incorporating crop insurance, stakeholders aim to achieve financial security for farmers, ensuring that losses due to unforeseen circumstances do not derail productivity and a steady income.
