PCIC Regional Office 7 Manager Paulita Secuya delivers her welcome message during RO 7’s Annual Consultative Meeting and Awards/Recognition Ceremony for Service Partners on April 22, 2025.

Claimants should file their crop insurance claims completely and accurately to avoid delays in processing.

This was the reminder given by RO 7 during the Annual Consultative Meeting and Awards/Recognition Ceremony for Service Partners, held in Cebu City on April 22, 2025.

RO 7, led by Manager Paulita Secuya, presented detailed claims computations to its clients, focusing on the prevalence and severity of losses using the Revised Claims Settlement Approaches and Procedures table. The discussion highlighted diseases across all commodities that can be given compensation. This aimed to guide partners in filing claims.

The recent changes in claims processing guidelines aim to reduce the number of claims denied. These revisions are particularly helpful for newly designated LGU employees, as they provide clearer guidance on PCIC’s claims rules and procedures.

Secuya thanked local government executives for their support to the corporation’s products.

RO 7 shared updates on the implementation of the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA). This year, most LGUs increased their targets on the number of farmers to be enrolled in PCIC.

“This increase poses a significant challenge,” a PCIC representative noted, “but it also opens greater opportunities for our farmers and fisherfolk. Higher targets mean more can benefit from free insurance coverage.”
