PCIC Regional Office 7 (RO 7) gave indemnity checks to swine raisers whose stock contracted African Swine Fever on February 18 and 19, 2025 at the Municipal Hall in the town of Batuan, Bohol.

“We want to provide you with the support that you truly needed. Ug unta magpadayon pa kamo sa pagpa-insured sa inyong hayopan ug nagka lain-laing commodities aron ma protektahan nato inyong mga tanom ug hayopan. Ang PCIC kanunay  motabang sa inyong mga mag-uuma, (“Hopefully, you continue to insure your livestock and other commodities, so that in times that there are losses, PCIC can help you through insurance),” RO 7 Manager Paulita Secuya said.

In response, Batuan Mayor Antonino Jumawid expressed his full support and appreciation to PCIC.

“Thankful kaayo ta sa PCIC, sa tabang sa calamity nga atong giaguman karun sa atong lungsod ang ASF. Magpasalamat ta nila’g dako nga sa kalisud, aduna diay solusyon, (“I am very grateful to PCIC for their assistance during the calamity we are currently battling in our LGU, which is the ASF. We are thankful that despite the challenges, there is a solution, and it comes from PCIC.),” Jumawid said.

In the same way, one of the beneficiaries, Ms. Jena Cabajug, thanked PCIC.

“Mapasalamaton kayo ko nga ang PCIC nag-deliver sa maayong serbisyo kanamo. Sakit sa amoa nga namatayan mi ug hayop, apan tungod kay naa ang PCIC, nahatagan mi ug paglaon (I am very thankful to PCIC for delivering excellent service to us. It is very painful for us to have lost our livestock, but because of the help from PCIC, we have been given hope to start anew.),’ she said.  

Also present during the indemnity check distribution were Batuan Vice Mayor Zeniza Bulalaque, Minicipal Council Agriculture Committee Chair Luciano Bag-ao, Municipal Agriculturist Mariflor Pagador as well as staff from the Municipal Agriculture Office.
