In the pilot episode of the “Usapang Agrikultura” on June 11, 2024 hosted by Ms. Sany Lopez, Station Manager of DWPE Radyo Pilipinas Tuguegarao (right) Mr. Louterio A. Sanchez Jr., Chief of the Claims Adjustment Division (middle), presented the highlights of PCIC RO2’s interventions in response to the effects of El Niño and Mr. Rosetom B. Molina, Insurance Processor II (left), discussed the regular and special or subsidized insurance programs.

PCIC RO2 has joined the “Usapang Agrikultura” radio program organized by the Presidential Communications Office in support of the Bagong Pilipinas brand of governance and President Marcos’ agricultural transformation agenda.

The program is broadcast daily from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM on DWPE Radyo Pilipinas,  a regional radio station.

“Usapang Agrikultura” aims to deliver essential and relevant information and updates to farmers, fisherfolk, and stakeholders. It addresses a wide range of agricultural topics, including pressing issues, best practices, and significant achievements within the sector.

In its pilot episode on June 11, 2024,   the radio program featured the PCIC and its services. Mr. Louterio A. Sanchez Jr., Chief of the Claims Adjustment Division, highlighted the intervention measures of PCIC RO2 in response to the effects of El Niño in the region and eastern CAR. He emphasized that PCIC RO2 has indemnified 13,440 farmers, amounting to PHP 84.35 million for the recent dry cropping season.

Mr. Rosetom B. Molina, Insurance Processor II, discussed the regular insurance program and special or subsidized insurance programs available to both farmers and fisherfolk. These programs are designed to mitigate the risks associated with agriculture and to protect the investments made by agricultural producers.

Participating in “Usapang Agrikultura” helps PCIC RO2 disseminate information to farmers, fishers and other agricultural stakeholders, promoting wider participation and cooperation.

PCIC RO2 hopes to see a significant increase in the number of farmers, fishers and other agricultural stakeholders enrolling in its agricultural insurance programs while ensuring that they are fully aware of the benefit it offers, ultimately leading to a more resilient agricultural sector in the region.
