PCIC RO IV AND LAND BANK PROMISE BETTER COORDINATION IN DELIVERING CROP INSURANCE IN SOUTHERN TAGALOG

Farmers and fisherfolk in the Southern Tagalog region may look forward to faster delivery of crop insurance cover and claims indemnity checks.

This, after officials of the PCIC Regional Office 4 and Land Bank of the Philippines held their annual coordination meeting in Puerto Princesa, Palawan in April 2018.

“The PCIC and Land Bank want more farmers in the region to have their crops insured,” PCIC Region 4 Manager Evelyn Virtudez said. “With PCIC offering a diverse product line and improvements to deliver services faster, and Land Bank’s wide reach, we are confident we can realize this objective.”

During the meeting, Ms. Virtudez discussed the PCIC Insurance Programs, Policies and Process Flow of PCIC-LBP transactions. It was also an opportunity for both agencies to address the issues and concerns on crop Insurance coverage and achieve better coordination between the PCIC and Land Bank.

“We thank the officials and employees of the LBP Puerto Princesa Lending Center for sharing with us ways we can impress on farmers the importance of crop insurance,” Ms. Virtudez said. ”Crop insurance is a sure way in helping farmers recoup their investments and hard work in the face of stronger typhoons and longer droughts.”
