PCIC Regional Office 7 (RO 7) continues to bring products and services closer to the farmers. This time, representatives went to Barangay Masangaban in Bais City, Negros Oriental, and the town of Tabogon in Cebu.
PCIC Negros Oriental Team Head Junriel Aba on June 19, 2025 led the information drive in Bais City on PCIC’s agriculture insurance products, including the coconut insurance for subsistence coconut farmers under the Coconut Farmers & Industry Development Plan and the Automatic Death Benefit that goes with the insurance.
“We bring our services closer so that you won’t have to spend on fare just to go to the LGU,” Aba said.
The RO assisted 745 farmers who applied for agriculture insurance. This included 226 coconut farmers. Joining Aba were acting Insurance Underwriters Ri-chee Patanao and Dianna Jane Murillo.
Meanwhile, 650 farmers from various barangays in the town of Tabogon, Cebu came for a similar activity held from June 16 to 19, 2025. The team – led by acting Insurance Underwriter Jerlyn Gumapak and Reserve Insurance Underwriter Vincent Cabigas – gave an orientation on PCIC services, facilitated processing of insurance applications, and addressed queries about insurance coverage under the Province of Cebu Agri-Fishery Insurance Program.
The Province of Cebu Agri-Fishery Insurance Program gives subsidies on premium payments, making agriculture insurance more accessible. The activity resulted in hundreds of successfully processed insurance applications.
