PCIC releases ₱2 Million worth of claims indemnity to Ilocos Norte farmers

The PCIC Regional Office 1 distributed a total of ₱2.039 Million worth of indemnity checks to 298 farmers from the different municipalities of Ilocos Norte.  Their crops were damaged by typhoon Ineng.

PCIC President Jovy Bernabe led the distribution, which was held at the Laoag City Centennial Arena on September 27, 2019. PCIC VP-SSG Segundo Guerrero, Jr., BDMD-OIC Manuel Cortina, and Regional Office 1-OIC Raul Servito assisted in the distribution.

Local executives were also in attendance, including Laoag City Mayor Michael Marcos Keon, Currimao Mayor Edward Quilala and Ilocos Norte Provincial Agriculturist Norma Lagmay.

Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Royina Garma and other PCSO officials also attended the event where they turned over a check worth ₱42 Million as PCSO’s capital contribution to the PCIC.  The PCSO also handed over a check worth ₱1 Million as calamity assistance to Ilocos Norte farmers affected by typhoon Ineng.
