PCIC, LandBank Region 7 aim to process agri insurance faster

Make sure clients and beneficiaries provide all the required documents to easily avail of crop insurance programs from the PCIC in Region 7.

This was the message relayed to PCIC and Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) employees in the Regional Crop Insurance Team Conference held in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental last August 29, 2019.

“One major obstacle in the processing of claims is the submission of incomplete documents,” Mr. Junriel Aba, a representative from the PCIC Extension Office in Dumaguete City, said. “Thus, PCIC and LandBank should be diligent in informing clients of the documentary requirements of crop insurance.”

Representatives from LandBank agreed and promised to look for ways to improve the processing of crop insurance applications and claims.

“LandBank and the PCIC want to process crop insurance applications and claims more quickly,” LandBank Bohol Manager Cecille B. Clarete said. “That’s why we’re working on improving coordination and reminding insurance underwriters and claims processors to work more efficiently.”

Both the PCIC and LandBank renewed their commitment for greater cooperation between the agencies, all for the benefit of their farmer-clients.
