PCIC INFO CARAVAN REACHES THOUSANDS IN REGION 2

Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation’s (PCIC) Regional Office 2’s information caravan has reached more than 3,100 farmers, fishers and stakeholders since its launch held in Santiago City, Isabela last January 2018.

The caravan brings information on PCIC’s various agricultural insurance programs including insurance for rice, corn, livestock and fisheries among others. Through this, PCIC aims that farmers and fishers gain greater awareness and access on the said programs.

The activity targets farmers, fishers and stakeholders in Cagayan Valley as well as the the Eastern Cordillera Administrative Region.

This activity has been made possible with the cooperation of local government units thru the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist and barangay officials. Next to be visited are the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao and Kalinga in February 2018.

It can be recalled that the caravan had a successful launch. The kick-off activity was attended by the local executives of Santiago City led by Mayor Joseph Salvador Tan and City Agriculturist Dominador Fernandez, Jr., barangay officials, and farmers, It was spearheaded by PCIC RO2 Manager Edna S.P. Marallag and the PRIME Team leader Jean L. Bayani, Chief of Marketing and Sales Division.
