PCIC Region 11 held a tree planting activity at Barangay Saravia, Koronadal City on June 29, 2019.

“It is PCIC Region 11’s contribution to the Koronadal local government’s tree planting initiative,” PCIC Region 11 Manager, Bonifacio Pales, said. “Trees prevent floods and soil erosion, helping keep farmlands and communities safe. Thus, it has been a part of PCIC’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.”   

The local government of Koronadal has put an emphasis on tree planting on areas under its jurisdiction. It has spearheaded a tree planting festival since 2011. For 2018 alone, the local government planted about 90,000 tree seedlings during the festival’s tree planting activity.
