Farmers from Iloilo City received indemnity checks worth more than ₱1.1 Million from the PCIC.

The checks, exactly worth ₱1,131,346, were distributed to 200 farmers at the Western Visayas Agriculture and Research Consortium in Jaro, Iloilo City, during the Biyaheng Bukid of Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol in July 2018.

“Recent monsoon rains have inevitably damaged our crops,” Atty. Bernabe said. “But we assure farmers in Iloilo and the rest of the country that the PCIC is ready to provide the necessary assistance for them to recoup their losses and replant on their farms more quickly.”

Apart from Secretary Piñol, on hand to award the checks were DA Assistant Secretary for the Visayas, Atty. Hansel Didulo, PCIC President Jovy Bernabe, DA Region 6 Executive Director Remelyn R. Recoter and PCIC Region 6 Officer-in-Charge Eva Ulie Laud.
