PCIC Region VII distributed claims indemnity checks amounting to P9.563 million to banana farmers and livestock and poultry raisers affected by super typhoon Yolanda during the Livestock and Poultry Stakeholders Forum on December 6, 2013 in Cebu City.  Present during the indemnity distribution were DA Secretary Proceso Alcala and DA Usec. Emerson Palad, NDA Administrator Grace Cenas, heads of the DA Regional Offices VI, VII and VIII, PCIC VP-CBAG Antonio S. Uy II and Regional Manager VI Criscencio V. Deligero.

DA Secretary Alcala acknowledged the PCIC speedy agricultural insurance claims payment for the victims affected by the typhoon.  He noted the instruction of PCIC President Jovy Bernabe to PCIC Regional Offices to expedite the claims payment of the victims of typhoon Yolanda, where on the spot claims adjustment shall be conducted without waiting for the filing of Notice of Loss from the farmers.
