PCIC Distributes Indemnity Checks, Awards Gng. PCIC in Aurora

Farmers whose crops were damaged by pests and diseases from Aurora received much-needed funds to recoup their investments.This after the PCIC distributed indemnity checks worth ₱269,000 to 43 farmers during the province’s celebration of Araw ng Agrikultura on February 12, 2018.

Besides the awarding of checks, the PCIC also awarded “Gng. PCIC”, a special award, to Mrs. Tris Trucilla of Casiguran, Aurora who also won the 2nd Runner-up Gng. Agrikultura competition for 2017.

“Mrs. Trucilla exemplified the true representation of what a Gng. PCIC really is. She has a strong and working knowledge of the PCIC Programs and Policies and is aware of the social impact of the crop insurance in the life of the farmers, being one herself.” PCIC Regional Manager Melba Manalo said. “That’s why we’re happy that she was chosen as Gng. PCIC for this year.”

Araw ng Agrikultura is celebrated every February in Aurora since 1979.

Besides attending the commemoration of the Araw ng Agrikultura, PCIC Region III-A Regional Manager Melba Manalo and Chief of Marketing and Sales Division Mario Lumibao also participated in the monthly meeting of Municipal Agricultural Officers of Aurora. Discussed in the meeting are the inclusion of Non-RSBSA farmers in the PCIC Program and continuous solicitation of MAOs as accredited solicitors. Also in the meeting was DA Technical Director for Region 3 Crispulo Bautista and Aurora Provincial Agriculturist Arnold Novicio.
