A PCIC-DA-BPI National Conference on the Prevention and Control of Crop pests and Diseases was held in Bouganville Suites and Resort, Taktak Road/Sumulong Circle, Antipolo City, Rizal on September 22-24, 2010. The seminar was conducted by Head Office personnel headed by Atty. Jovy C. Bernabe, President, Norman R. Cajucom, ASVP, Carmen N. Hutaba, OIC ARVPD, Segundo H. Guerrero, Jr., AVP, SSG,  Agustin B. Alunan, and Renato R. Viado together with PCIC RO XI OIC Bonifacio V. Pales, National Coordinator on the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Diseases, Herman P. Parrenas, RO XI Regional Coordinator on the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Diseases, and Ernesto M. Catbagan, RO XI OIC, CAD.

It was attended by PCIC Regional Managers/OICs and Regional Office Plant Pests and Diseases Risk Insurance Specialists. Also in attendance were Dr. Jesus S. Binamira, Ms. Rosario Lizarondo, RCPC, RO III, and Ms. Cecile Marie Manzanilla, RCPC, RO VI-A of the Department of Agriculture (DA). Ms. Wilma R. Cuaterno, Chief, Crop Protection Division, Mr. Paul S. Karganilla, Chief, Pest Management Section, Mr. Cesar A. Baniqued, Chief, Disease Management, and Dr. Lilia A. Portales, crop pest and disease experts of the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) served as resource persons in this National Conference.
