The Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation awards P19.858 million worth of indemnity payment to 1,498 farmers for crops and other assets lost in Region III caused by the natural calamities and pests and diseases.
The awarding of indemnity checks was held in Pampanga on 24 January 2013. The indemnity payment will help restart the disrupted farming operations in the nearly 2,300 hectares that were damaged.
The PCIC was represented by PCIC President Jovy C. Bernabe and members of the PCIC Board of Directors led by Usec. Bernadette Romulo-Puyat. Other members of the Board are Dir. Alex DG. Suarez, Dir. David M. Villanueva, Dir. Dioscoro A. Granada and Dir. Epifanio A. Maniebo.
