OCCIDENTAL MINDORO RECEIVE INDEMNITY INSURANCE CHECKS

The PCIC recently distributed indemnity checks to   farmers from various barangays of the municipality of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

One hundred twenty nine (129) farmers were given checks worth a total of ₱14 Million at the Municipal Agriculture Office. Mr. Xerxes V. Garcia, Officer-in-Charge of the PCIC Regional Office 4 Marketing and Sales Division, led the check distribution together with the staff from PCIC Extension Office.

“The PCIC understands that farmers need immediate aid when calamity strikes,” PCIC President Atty. Jovy Bernabe said.” Thus, we’re working to make our operations more efficient, ensuring checks are distributed sooner, so that they can recoup losses and quick replant on their lands.”

Rice, corn, onion, garlic, are among the most produced in the province. Rice farmers, in particular, need immediate aid in the purchase of farm inputs as the cost of rice production is increasing.
