Drought-affected Isabela farmers receive ₱9M indemnity from PCIC

More than 2,200 farmers from the municipalities of Benito Soliven, San Mariano and Jones in Isabela received ₱9.70 Million worth of indemnity checks from PCIC Regional Office 2 on November 22 and 23, 2019.  The payments were for the partial crop losses caused by drought.

“Buti naman hindi ganun kalala ang sira ng aming pananim nitong nakaraang wet cropping season,” one of the recipients said. ”Salamat sa PCIC at may nakuha kaming tulong. Magaganit naming ito sa pagtatanim ulit sa dry cropping season.

The checks were released at the Community Centers of Benito Soliven and Jones, respectively. This was done for the convenience of farmer-beneficiaries and to increase community awareness on PCIC.

Before the distribution, a short briefing was conducted by the Marketing and Sales Division staff on PCIC’s insurance products.
