Avail of insurance, farmers urged | The Manila Bulletin Newspaper OnlineMANILA, Philippines – The Department of Agriculture (DA) urged farmers to avail of government’s crop insurance program that would shield them from agriculture-related risks and cover their loses. During the Communications and News Exchange (CNEX) Forum held at the Philippine Information Agency, Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala said farmers need only go to their nearest local government unit or to the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), an attached corporation of the DA, in order to avail of the safety net for crop growers.
