PCIC Regional Office 11 and its Extension Offices conducted a series of farmer orientations and accepted applications for insurance in events held throughout the region in March 2025. 

It began with an orientation in Brgy. Magsaysay, Marilog District on March 4, 2025. RO 11 staff member Eric Ferrer received more than 70 agriculture insurance applications.

RO 11 personnel Nizi Louise Obas and Dave John Pulido held the orientation and processing of insurance applications on March 7, 2025 in Barangay Colorado, Digos City. A total of 76 applications under the Credit and Life Term Insurance (CLTI) product were collected, along with 20 for livestock insurance and 13 for high-value crops insurance.

Eric Ferrer and Agriculture Technician Melisa Estoya accepted more than 170 insurance applications in Sitio Pangyan and over 30 applications in Sitio Tabao in Marilog District from March 10 to 11, 2025.

This was followed by the same activity on March 12, 2025 in Barangay Cabasagan in the town of Boston, Davao Oriental. PCIC Extension Office-Mati (PEO-Mati) staff members Junrey Cartagena and Edwin Gracia were able to gather more than 100 high-value crop insurance and two livestock insurance policies. The Mati Agriculture Office lent valuable support to the activity.

Insurance for fishing boats was offered to fisherfolk from Barangays Calubihan and Mongbongcogon in the town of Banaybanay, Davao Oriental, on March 13 and 14, 2025.

Felita Villamora of PEO-Mati, and Banaybanay Senior Aquaculturist Jean Solis Jr. received 75 insurance applications in Barangay Calubihan on March 13 and 65 applications in Mongbongcogon on March 14.

The same day (March 14) PEO-Digos personnel Emerlita Dayon and Christopher Escaner gave an orientation and assisted farmers and livestock raisers in filing for agriculture insurance in Barangay San Roque, Digos City, Davao Del Sur. More than 100 livestock insurance applications, 98 Credit and Life Term Insurance (CLTI) applications, and over 50 high-value crop insurance applications were accepted. Ms. Marichu Bulat-ag from Digos Agriculture Office assisted in the activity.

Successful mass enrollment activities were carried out across barangays in the town of Asuncion, Davao Del Norte on March 17 and 18, 2025.  The activity focused on introducing local farmers to PCIC’s Credit and Life Term Insurance Program (CLTIP), specifically the Accident and Dismemberment Security Scheme (ADSS).       Led by RO 11 staff member Aljun Hermosa, the two-day activity received more than 300 CLTIP-ADSS insurance applications.

An orientation on PCIC products was also held on March 30, 2025 in Brgy. Mana, Malita, Davao Occidental. PEO-Malita staff member Nizi Louise Obas encouraged farmers to avail of agriculture insurance to protect their livelihood.
