RO 6 proudly joins the dance-strike together with national government agencies, local government units, universities, and support groups during the One Billion Rising campaign.
Regional Office 6 officials and employees danced en masse as they participated in the global One Billion Rising (OBR) campaign on February 14, 2025, at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand, Muelle Loney Street, City Proper, Iloilo City.
“Joining this event mainly shows your support to those who have experienced violence and for those who are unable to speak out about their abuse,” Lourie Mae Abordaje, a teller from RO 6, said. “We know this kind of abuse can happen not only to women but also to men. Participating in this campaign helps raise awareness that violence shouldn’t be normalized.”
OBR is an annual global dance-strike event aimed at ending systemic violence and oppression against women. Its goal is to have one billion participants worldwide, every time the event happens. This year’s OBR advocates the protection of women, help them heal from abuse, and empower them in order to overcome challenges.
