Regional Office 7 Manager Paulita Secuya served as a resource person during the Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Credit Policy Council (DA-ACPC) Orientation-Workshop on October 8, 2024 in Mactan, and the 2024 National Livestock and Poultry Summit on October 10, 2024 in Cordova, Cebu.

The DA-ACPC workshop was attended by Regional Agri Credit Desk Officers (RACDOs) and representatives from other attached agencies of the DA. DA-ACPC Executive Dir. Jocelyn Alma Badiola expressed appreciation for the steadfast support that PCIC gives to farmers and fisherfolk. She stressed insurance’s vital role in safeguarding the credit line being given by lending institutions to farmers and fisherfolk.

Meanwhile, the National Livestock and Poultry Summit was attended by industry stakeholders. It served as an opportunity for PCIC to foster greater appreciation for livestock insurance among livestock raisers, especially with the recent outbreak of African Swine Fever and the threat of other diseases such as avian flu. The occasion served as a venue to also discuss fluctuating feed prices, and increasing competition in the market.
