Remegio Tradio a 61-year-old fisherman from Cebu, recently received an indemnity check from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation Regional Office 7 (PCIC RO 7) for the damage on his fishing boat.
A resident of Barangay Tula, Minglanilla, Mr. Tradio received ₱21,300 for the boat that was totally damaged by typhoon Dante, which ravaged Cebu in June.
He is a beneficiary of the province’s Agri-fishery Insurance Program, in which the provincial government gives 100% subsidy on the insurance premium of farmers and fishers within its jurisdiction.
Tradio expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the PCIC.
Minglanilla’s fishery technician Creschellalinda Torillas, together with RO7 insurance underwriter Rembrandt Gellegan and Mark Navaja awarded the check to Mr. Tradio.
