San Ildefonso farmers receive claims indemnity from PCIC
PCIC Region 3 handed out indemnity checks to San Ildefonso farmers on October 8, 2019. Their crops were damaged by the continuous rains brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat.
Thirty-six rice farmers from Barangay Sapang Putik, San Ildefonso, Bulacan, were given a total of ₱305,496.
The indemnity checks were awarded by PCIC President Jovy Bernabe, together with Chairman Crisologo Ignacio and Board Directors Alex Suarez, Luzon Farmer’s Sector Representative, Juan Borra Jr., Visayas Farmer’s Sector Representative, and Arnold Colama, Mindanao Farmer’s Sector Representative.
VP-SSG Segundo Guerrero Jr., Region 3 Manager Ma. Lilian Aguilar and Division Chiefs Julius Batenga (CAD), Richel Lapuz (AFD) and Oliva Velasquez (MSD) were also on hand to witness the event.
“We are fortunate that the government is giving full premium subsidies so that farmers can have their crops insured for free,” President Bernabe said. “The PCIC is always ready to help farmer-beneficiaries recover investments whenever natural calamities strike.”
In response, farmer-beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the PCIC’s assistance.
