The Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation Regional Office 1 (PCIC RO 1)  and the  municipal government of Sual, Pangasinan agreed to provide subsidy for agricultural insurance for eligible farmers and fisherfolk in the municipality.

This followed the signing of a memorandum of agreement by  RO 1 Manager Raul Servito and Sual Mayor Mayor Liseldo Calugay at the Sual Municipal Hall on August 23, 2021.

“We thank Mayor Calugay for their valuable assistance.  With this agreement, more farmers and fisherfolk in Sual will enjoy insurance protection from natural calamities and accidents,” Servito said. ”Local governments are PCIC’s partners in bringing agricultural insurance to more benificiaries.”   

For his part, Mayor Calugay thanked the PCIC for the partnership and expressed appreciation for the insurance service. He requested PCIC to look into signing similar agreements for other sectors,  including women, senior citizens and tricycle drivers.

Present to witness the signing were Municipal Agriculturist Florencia Guanzon, Municipal Legal Officer Mageryl Shay De Guzman and RO1 Claims Chief Jaime C. Gomez.
