In line with the instruction of PCIC Management, the PCIC Regional Office XI conducted a series of Seminar-Workshops on Updates of PCIC Programs, Prevention and Control of Major Pests and Diseases of Rice and Corn, and Assessment and Settlement Procedures for Reserve Corps of Adjusters (RCA) in its area of coverage.

These seminar-workshops were participated by PCIC RO XI Personnel, Municipal Agriculture Office Personnel, Local Farm Technicians (LFT), and farmer leaders from various municipalities of Region XI as well as South Cotabato and Sarangani Provinces.

RM Bonifacio V. Pales presented the overview and rationale of the crop insurance programs and advocacies, while the Division Chiefs and Staff of Marketing and Sales Division and Claims Adjustment Division discussed the Underwriting Process and the Claims Assessment and Settlement Processes/ Prevention and Control Measures of Major Pests and Diseases of Rice and Corn, respectively.

With these seminar-workshops the participants were oriented about the rationale and updates of the crop insurance program.  They gained working knowledge on claims adjustment and settlement approaches through the adoption of practical and realistic methods of crop loss assessment which are essential to a speedy and fairly accurate claims assessment.  They likewise increased their understanding on the latest technologies on the prevention and control of major pests and diseases of rice and corn.

The said workshops were held in PCIC Regional Office in Koronadal City and various provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley, Sarangani, Davao del Sur and South Cotabato on February 16 to April 7, 2015.
