More than 1,300 farmers from the CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) attended the “Agrikultura para sa Pagbabago,” an information caravan held by the Department of Agriculture at the Provincial Sports Complex in Sta. Rita, Batangas City on January 31, 2018.

The PCIC Regional Office 4 was one of the participating agencies in the caravan. PCIC took the opportunity to present to the farmers the different agricultural insurance services and programs. In the same event, the corporation distributed indemnity checks to farmer-beneficiaries.

“We want to thank the Department of Agriculture for organizing this event and letting the PCIC be a part of it,” said Mr. Xerxes V. Garcia, Officer-in-Charge of the Regional Office Marketing and Sales Division. “The PCIC wants to build strong ties with farmers and help them access the free insurance programs of the government”, he added.

Crop insurance has become more important and we must inform and encourage our farmers to have their crops protected, especially now that we have been experiencing the ill-effects of climate change.
