The Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) President Atty. Jovy C. Bernabe and Members of the Board signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Mayor Ronald Allan G. Cesante, CPA, in Dalaguete, Cebu last February 5, 2015 for the insurance cover of the Agri-Fishery Programs & Stakeholders of LGU Dalaguete, the vegetable basket in Central Visayas. Part of the MOA is the establishment of PCIC Extension Office in Dalaguete for their farmers and other LGUs in the southern part of Cebu to avail for an insurance cover of their crops, livestock and fishing boats.

PCIC also partially awarded to Mayor Cesante in the presence of Vice Mayor Jeffrey B. Belciña, Sangguniang Members Juan B. Moran and Mario Montenegro, and MANRO Head Engr. Expedizitas Lenares, the 75 Indemnity checks amounting to P362,255.00 to those farmers and fishermen whose corn crops and fishing boats, respectively, were severely damaged by Typhoons Quennie and Senyang last November 27 & December 30, 2014. These farmers and fisherfolk were insured under the Cebu Provincial Government-Agri Fishery Insurance of Gov. Hilario Davide III and the Registry System for Basic Sector in Agriculture Insurance Program of PCIC.

The activity was attended by PCIC key officers in the presence of Senior Vice-President Norman R. Cajucom, Vice President-Corporate Business Affairs Group (CBAG) Antonio S. Uy II, ARPVD Manager Renato R. Viado, Corporate Secretary Atty. Roland Tulay members of the PCIC Board of Directors – Dioscoro A. Granada, Juan V. Borra, Alex D. Suarez & Epifanio A. Maniebo and Crescencio V. Deligero, Jr., PCIC RO7 Regional Manager.
