PCIC Looks to Better Procurement with Seminar-Workshop

The PCIC looks to make procurement more efficient and transparent. This, after the agency participated in a seminar workshop on Republic Act 9184, more popularly known as the Government Procurement Reform Act., and its implementing rules and regulations (IRR).

Done in cooperation with the Government Procurement Policy Board, the seminar was conducted at the PCIC Head Office from October 18 to 19, 2018 attended by fifty-four members of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) from head office and regional offices.

“We want our procurement officers to be aware of the recent updates and issuances on RA 9184, its IRR and the PhilGEPS (Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) System,” PCIC Vice President for Support Services Group Segundo Guerrero said. “We want to make procurement as fast, easy and efficient as possible. At the same time, the process has to be transparent and compliant with existing laws and regulations.”

Among the topics discussed were general provisions of R.A. 9184 and its 2016 revised IRR, procurement planning and monitoring, and the standardized bidding procedures for goods and infrastructure projects.
