PCIC Regional Office 12 (RO 12) distributed indemnity checks worth ₱1,658,808 to Sultan Kudarat farmer beneficiaries on on January 8, 2020.

Indemnity checks were given to 352 farmers coming from the municipalities of Lebak, Kalamansig, Palimbang. Of these, 315 came from Lebak, 21 were from Kalamansig and 16 were from Palimbang.

The event was held at Lebak municipal gymnasium and was attended by Lebak Mayor Frederick Celestial, agricultural officials and employees.

“We are happy that we can help farmers recoup their investments through these indemnity checks,” Elias Catulong, Regional Manager of RO 12, said. “Some farms were hit by pests, while others had crop diseases and the remaining were damaged by natural calamities.”

For his part, Mayor Celestial expressed his gratitude to PCIC for always supporting the farmers in times of calamities.
