SOUTH COTABATO – The PCIC Region XI distributed indemnity checks for claims of farmers under the DA-Weather Adverse Rice Areas (WARA) PROGRAM in the drought-stricken province of  Tantangan, South Cotabato last May 27, 2014. The checks were personally handed to the farmer-recipients by PCIC RO XI Regional Manager II Bonifacio V. Pales with the assistance of OIC-CAD Ernesto M. Catbagan, IU I Gracia B. Salloman, CP II/Actg. IA Leonora G. Solidarios, and Hilbert O. Narbonito.

A total of P646,037.75 has been awarded to ninety-two (92) farmer beneficiaries cultivating 127.75 hectares for the period December 1, 2013 to May 27, 2014 in South Cotabato and Sarangani Province.

The checks were received with much appreciation and gratitude for the government’s effort to ease their plight brought about by the adverse effects of climate change.
