The Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation Extension Office (PEO)-Aklan awarded ₱534,887 to 141 farmer-beneficiaries in Banga town, Aklan on October 20, 2021 in an event participated in by Banga Vice Mayor Noel Redison.

“The PCIC continues its operations and serves our clients amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic,” PEO head Ronilo Calar said.

”We are happy to process applications and claims, and distribute indemnity especially during this time that we’re in this health crisis and the threat of the African Swine Fever (ASF) is still here,” he added.

Apart from the distribution, the PEO staff members also gave an orientation on PCIC products and updates on the livestock insurance.

Vice Mayor Redison encouraged the farmer-beneficiaries to urge their fellow farmers to avail of PCIC’s free crop insurance.

For their part, the farmers expressed gratitude to PCIC for prompt processing of claims and the indemnity they received.
