TUGUEGARAO CITY – The PCIC awarded indemnity checks worth around P1 Million last October 8, 2014 in Tuguegarao City to insured farmers whose crops were damaged due to Typhoons Luis and Mario.  The following special insurance programs implemented by PCIC Region II covered the indemnified farmers, to wit: (1) Subsidized Agricultural Insurance Program under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA); (2) Rice Crop Insurance Support Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA); and (3) Philippine Climate Change Adaptation Project – Weather Index-Based Crop Insurance.

Present during the ceremony were PCIC President Jovy C. Bernabe, Chairman Dioscoro A. Granada, Directors Epifanio A. Maniebo, Juan V. Borra and Alex DG. Suarez, VP-SSG Segundo H. Guerrero, Jr., Region II Manager Edna S. Marallag and key officers and staff.

The awarding was immediately followed by the Board of Directors’ meeting and dialogue with PCIC Region II employees.
