The Insurance Institute for Asia and the Pacific (IAAP) conducted an in-house seminar for the officers and employees of the PCIC on Overview of Insurance. The seminar was done to further enhance the knowledge of the participants on the other lines of insurance, such as Engineering Insurance, Marine Hull Insurance, Life Insurance and Fire Insurance. This was done in view of the directive of Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap to insure all Agricultural Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (ACEF) Projects of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Other than the officers and employees of the PCIC, the participants also included members of the ACEF National Technical Secretariat of the DA, who are also members of the PCIC-ACEF Agricultural Insurance Technical Working Group.

The speakers of the seminar included Mr. Pedro Benedicto, Jr., who lectured on Engineering Insurance, Mr. Dominador Ruiz on Marine Hull Insurance, Mr. Augusto Cipriano on Life Insurance and Mr. Edgardo Betito, who lectured on Fire Insurance.
