Crop insurance firm releases P7M to farmersTHE Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) in Tacloban City has released nearly P7 million worth of insurance claims to farmer-beneficiaries in Eastern Visayas for first three quarters of 2010. Menley Medino, claims division chief of PCIC-Eastern Visayas, told Leyte Samar Daily Express in an interview that the fund benefited 1,304 farmers in various parts of the region. The total amount released reaching to P6,871,000 was paid to farmers whose claims were verified within the period of January to October 31 this year.
