PCIC recently awarded indemnity checks in Tacloban City to several farmer beneficiaries affected by Typhoon Yolanda in the different localities in Region VIII.
The amount of P1.411 million represented the partial indemnity payments distributed for damaged rice and high value crops and were awarded by the PCIC management.
PCIC Director Epifanio Maniebo’s short message to the farmers emphasized the importance of crop insurance, especially because of the climate change phenomenon. He also assured the farmers of PCIC assistance in times of crisis. RM Digamon also thanked the farmers and reminded them to always secure their crops every cropping season.
